š Strong Start Fundraising Drive is Live! Help The Family Systems Collaborative launch its first year of trauma-informed support for children and fam
At The Family Systems Collaborative, the legally educated social worker assigned will work with your lawyer to make sure kids going through tough legal situations are truly heard and cared for. We help bring a fuller picture of what children needāemotionally, developmentally, and within their families. Our goal is to support legal teams in making decisions that are not only legally sound, but also kind, thoughtful, and grounded in whatās best for each child. Because when kids are represented well, everything changes.
Iām here to support you and your familyānot to judge you. My job is to understand whatās going on, how things got here, and what might help.
That might mean helping with transportation, working through school issues, or sharing your concerns with the legal professional on your case. I talk with them often and give input based on what Iāve learned from you.
Youāll see me at least once a month while your case is open, and weāll talk more if needed. Iām here to listen, help, and work with you to find real solutions.
Having a Legally Educated Social Worker (LESW) on your team can make a big differenceābut itās still a new idea, and many attorneys havenāt heard of it yet. Thatās okay.
If you think my support could help, the first step is to talk to the legal professional on your case and let them know. You can ask them to reach out to me directly or visit my website to learn more about what I do.
Hereās how they can get in touch:

When you speak with the attorney, you might say something like:
"I heard about someone called a Legally Educated Social Worker who helps support kids and families during court cases. Could we contact them and see if they can join my team?"
Once the legal professional connects with me, weāll figure out if itās a good fit and how I can best support your case.
